I need to buy a small quantity of sand for a small building project.  I need about half a trailer load, but I have not got a trailer so I would have to buy it by bag if possible.  Does anyone know how I can do this, or where I could buy this sort of quantity?

Hi Van,

Pete_l might be able to help you out - try PMing him.  Otherwise, there are 2 builders yards near Baza, one North and one South of the A92N.

Does anyone know where to get ordinary beach type sand, not the course type used for building. We've been told we'll need to get it from Granada, or the beach of course!!!

Don't want to DIY take a look at www.cuevademama.co.uk to see how the pros do it!

Hi Van,
Los Robles will deliver sand in sack about square metre amount.
Hope your settling back in.
Barry.

Yes, I do have a little left - the problem is still transport
Van: there's bound to be someone near you who can lend a trailer
but make sure it's in good nick. Someone I know borrowed one
and ended up with E 000's of damage to their car. Alternatively,
some builders just shovel it straight into the back of their
vans. I'd suggest putting down a polythene liner first tho'

Thanks for the info guys.  We managed to get some from local builders who are renovating a cave nearby.  We asked them where we could get a small amount and they gave us some free gratis.  Jolly decent chaps.

Thanks Barry yes settling in, phone and internet back on although I had to call out the engineer yesterday as we had a fault.  Turned out it was at the exchange, but all credit they did come straight out and sorted it out for us, now on 3mb adsl which is rather good
